A Commitment to the Long-Term Well-Being of Playa Flamingo
ADI Flamingo (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral de Flamingo) is a non-profit organization formed by members of the Playa Flamingo community in 2023 for the purpose of promoting prudent and sustainable economic, social, and environmental programs for the benefit of the community. As the community continues to evolve, ADI Flamingo exists to provide a constructive civic voice, foster collaboration, and advocate for the long-term well-being of Playa Flamingo and those who call it home.
ADI Flamingo has been granted tax exemption by the Costa Rica tax authority.
Why Flamingo Needs an ADI
Flamingo is experiencing rapid growth, increasing the demand for improved infrastructure, reliable utilities, environmental protection, and strong tourism support. ADIF serves as the unified voice of the community—advocating with government agencies, service providers, and authorities to ensure the long-term quality of life for residents, business owners, wildlife, and visitors.

Our mission is to advance the prudent, sustainable economic, social, and environmental development of Playa Flamingo in a manner that supports the community’s quality of life, resilience, and enduring character. In a place defined by extraordinary natural beauty, increasing visibility, and growing importance, stewardship matters. We believe Playa Flamingo’s future should be shaped not only by growth, but by stewardship—guided by the understanding that thriving coastal communities require both vision and care.
Our Role
We serve as a community-based civic organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to helping address the shared priorities that influence daily life, long-term resilience, and the future character of Playa Flamingo. Our volunteer Board of Directors and Committee members work to help strengthen the systems, services, and public interests that matter most to the community.

How We Work

How We Operate and Are Funded
ADIF is led by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors and committees who contribute their expertise to advance impactful community projects. Our funding comes from donations, sponsorships, fundraising events, government resources, international funds, and partnerships with foundations and community organizations.

The Asociación de Desarrollo Integral de Flamingo (ADI Flamingo), in accordance with the principles of equality and respect for fundamental rights, affirms that no form of discrimination shall be applied on the basis of age, race, religion, sex, disability, or national origin. Accordingly, ADI Flamingo shall ensure that this principle is upheld in all of its actions and operations, including but not limited to:
- Personnel hiring and employment processes
- The selection and contracting of vendors and service providers
- The planning, execution, and implementation of community projects
- The allocation and distribution of resources or funds to community service organizations
